My guy you don't need a template. It's just number of minutes provided divided by number of questions. Maybe factor in 15 to 20 minutes less to double check questions or take a bathroom break. Just write it out on a page saying by hour 0.5 "X" number of questions should be done, hour 1 "2X" should be done and so on. You're way overthinking this, the bar exam is approachable and I am more than sure you can pass. -

For context: I will be entering my 3L year at Osgoode. I have valuable summer work and legal clinic experiences, including a 1L summer law student job, 2L summer Law Student job, an RA position, work with 2 legal clinics, participation in 2 law school student groups, participation in 2 advocacy competitions, and maybe joining the moot team. The issue is that my GPA is below average (C+/B-). I recently applied to article with a number of firms outside Toronto. I am most interested in transactional work or commercial litigation. My question: If I get an offer by a lower paying firm or an exclusively civil litigation firm outside of Toronto, would it be a bad idea to reject the offer in hopes of landing an articling position in Toronto? Or a position with a firm that is more aligned with the work I want to do? Since my grades are not ideal, I would like a better idea about whether or not I should expect to be rejected from most or all of the more prestigious positions offered during the Toronto Articling Recruit. Any input or opinions are welcomed. Thanks -

I was accepted to Dalhousie a number of months ago and was very glad as I like Halifax and I am interested in Health Law and Health Policy. However, I was accepted to Osgoode more recently and now I am am weighing up my options. My gut instinct is that the culture at Dalhousie will suit me better and they have a Health Justice Institute so it may be my better option, but I am not very familiar with what Osgoode has to offer in terms of Health law or student culture. Any insights about this would be much appreciated. Also, I am from Northern Ontario, so Osgoode is much closer to me than Dal but I don't have any specific plans about where I would like to work when finished law school. -

I think McGill is harder to predict if you're just applying with a cGPA. In this case, I'd put OP in at all of these schools, assuming their B3 is a bit higher. They have a superb LSAT and good GPA. -

Well, there's no stand-alone JD program in Quebec. A JD is a common law degree. Quebec is a civil law jurisdiction so their schools focus on that and award LLBs/LLLs. Some Quebec schools offer the JD as an add-on to their civil law degrees. You get the JD and civil law degree after 3-4 years of combined study (at the cost of spending your summers in class instead of working or by extending your schooling by a year). If you want to do a JD without the civil law component and don't want to do the LSAT, UOttawa and UMoncton offer JD programs in French - you get your summers off to work. The downside is that you won't have the civil law degree so you wouldn't be able to practice in Quebec without some extra schooling or gymnastics. -

Maybe on the margins but it's only 1L. Don't overthink it. The main issue with grades is they have to be good enough to get you some OCI's. After that, it's more about your interviews and overall resume (though grades still matter somewhat and more at some firms than others). -
